Summary
Ron Gerow, MayorMayor Ron Gerow was born in Belmont Township and has lived in the township all of his life. He has served on municipal council for the past 25 years consecutively and since amalgamation in 1998 he has served as Reeve of the municipality and continues to do so. Mayor Gerow has also served as Warden of Peterborough County four times since 1991 and is currently a member of County Council. In 2008, Mayor Gerow served as chair of the Eastern Ontario Wardens Caucus for the 13 counties in eastern Ontario. Mayor Gerow owns and operates Gerow Bus Lines in the township and he loves to spend his spare time hunting, fishing and hiking. |

Andy Sharpe, Deputy MayorDeputy Mayor Andy Sharpe has been a self employed cabinet maker for almost 20 years in Havelock and builds quality kitchens and furniture for clients throughout the area. Andy lives in the oldest house in the village. He and his wife Sonya have 2 children, Keegan and Melina. Andy is proud of our township and feels blessed to be able to raise his family in such a great township. Deputy Mayor Sharpe has served on council since 2000 where he served two terms as Councillor and one term as Deputy Reeve. He was acclaimed as Deputy Reeve for the next term and he looks forward to the challenge of moving our township forward over the next 4 years. Deputy Mayor Sharpe has been Chair of the Township’s Public Works Committee , Youth Committee ,Planning Advisory Committee and the Committee of Adjustment.
Andy is a member of County Council and serves on the Land Division Committee and is also the Peterborough County City Health Unit appointee. |

Barry Pomeroy, Councillor - Village WardCouncillor Barry Pomeroy has been a lifelong resident of the Township.
Councillor Pomeroy is married to Linda and they have raised three wonderful children. He has four handsome grandsons and one beautiful granddaughter.
Councillor Pomeroy’s hobbies include golfing and camping. |

Larry Ellis, Councillor - Township WardCouncillor Larry Ellis is a retired Senior Production / Business Manager. He returned to the Township ten years ago and now resides at the sixth line of Belmont Township (Seabrook/Ellis homestead) where he was born and raised. He is married to Marilyn and they have three adult children and four beautiful granddaughters. Larry’s hobbies include farming and spending time with his family at their cottage on Belmont Lake. He considers himself a good steward of the land and an environmentalist. Councillor Ellis is serving his second term as Township Councillor and has represented Council on the following committees: Source Water Protection, Township Revitalization Improvement Project (T.R.I.P.), Planning Advisory, Administration and Crowe Valley Conservation Authority Liaison. |

Jim Martin, Councillor - At LargeCouncillor Jim Martin was born in Mississauga and he spent many years working in the aircraft industry before becoming self employed and starting his landscape business over 15 years ago. Councillor Martin was raised as a cottager on Kasshabog Lake where he still has many family and friends. He first met his wife Donna at the family cottage and a combination of love for the area and tiring of the commute from the city they decided this is where they wanted to settle and raise their two girls Karli and Jamie. Jim enjoys family time and he spends a lot of time during the winter in arenas where he enjoys watching his girl’s figure skate. Councillor Martin was first elected to council two terms ago where he has sat as chair of Fire Management Committee, Administration Committee and assists with the Youth Committee and Township Revitalization Improvement Project (T.R.I.P.) Committee. He currently sits as Vice Chair of the Crowe Valley Conservation Authority and is looking forward to a busy and productive third term of council. |
