About the Community Social Plan
The Peterborough Community Social Plan (PCSP) is a County and City of Peterborough driven initiative to improve the linkages in service delivery between the City and the rural County communities.
The majority of social, health care, housing, employment and training services are offered by organizations that are physically based in the City. A lack of transportation, cost of travel and availability of childcare services are issues, which can inhibit residents from accessing the services that they require.
The Community Social Plan works to raise awareness of the City-based services currently available in the county as well as to collaboratively create solutions to improve quality of life for county residents.
There are 11 priority areas that center the scope of the Community Social Plan’s efforts and collaborations:
- Access to Arts, Culture, Heritage and Recreation
- Access to Health
- Accessibility
- Child Care and Child Development
- Community Involvement
- Economic/ Income Security
- Environment
- Food Security
- Housing
- Human Rights
- Safe Communities
